“Providing a safe and nurturing environment where every child and young person is empowered to thrive.”
Our Aim
Ó Chroí Care aims to provide a compassionate, child-centred environment that meets the complex care and support needs of children and young people who require residential support.
We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering space where each young person feels valued, heard, and supported to thrive emotionally, physically, and socially. Our goal is to sustain a high-quality care environment that promotes individual growth, honors dignity, and upholds the rights of each young person.
Newcastle Centre
Ó Chroí Care’s Newcastle centre is a social care-based residential service that provides medium to long-term care and support for up to three children and young people, both male and female, aged between 6 and 18 years.
The centre is specifically designed to support individuals with a primary diagnosis of mild to moderate Intellectual Disability, who may also present with emotional and/or behavioural needs.
Additionally, the centre provides care for children and young people with co-occurring diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Care Team
The Social Care Team at Newcastle are skilled in supporting children with intellectual disabilities and complex emotional needs. All team members receive core training in safeguarding, behaviour support, safety interventions and trauma-informed care.
In addition, there is a comprehensive training programme in place, including Autism Awareness Training, communication strategies, and supporting children with sensory processing needs. This ensures that our team can provide nuanced, compassionate, and evidence-informed care.
